What this covers
This policy explains what happens to information you send through rooterdrainservice.com. It applies to this website. It does not cover anything you send us by phone, text, WhatsApp or email, which is handled the same way in practice but is not collected by this site.
What we collect
When you fill in the contact or quote form, we collect what you type into it: your name, your phone number, your email address if you give one, your postal code if you give one, the kind of work you are asking about, and your message. We also record which page you submitted the form from, and the IP address the submission came from.
Your email address, postal code and message are optional and are marked as optional on the form. We ask for a phone number because for this kind of work it is usually the only practical way to answer you.
When you simply browse the site, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses and the pages requested. This is ordinary web server operation and is used for security and troubleshooting.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry. That is the whole purpose.
We use your details to call or email you back about the work you asked about. We do not sell them, rent them, share them with lead brokers, or pass them to other contractors.
The IP address and source page are recorded for two reasons: to filter automated spam submissions, and to see which pages on the site people are actually contacting us from.
Marketing
We do not run a mailing list and this site does not sign you up to one. Submitting the form does not subscribe you to anything.
Analytics and tracking
This site uses Google Tag Manager, which may load Google Analytics. These record how the site is used — pages viewed, how visitors arrived, roughly where in the world they are — and they set cookies in your browser to do it. This data is about site usage; it is not linked to the details you put in the contact form.
You can block this with browser settings, an ad blocker, or your browser's Do Not Track setting. The site works normally without it.
Cookies
The site sets a session cookie and a CSRF token cookie. Both are functional: the CSRF token is a security measure that stops another website from submitting our form on your behalf, and the form will not work without it. Analytics cookies are set by the tools described above.
How long we keep it
Form submissions are kept in our own system so we have a record of jobs and enquiries. If you would like your enquiry deleted, ask us and we will delete it.
Who can see it
Rooter Drain Service. The data sits with our hosting provider, who can technically access the server as any host can, and enquiry notifications are sent to our own email address, which is a Google account.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, forms are protected against cross-site submission, and the administration area requires a login. No website can promise perfect security, and this one does not.
Children
This site is a business site for homeowners and property managers. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here.
