Drain Cleaning in Hackensack, NJ
The county seat, three miles north-east of Lodi. High-rises downtown, older single-family beyond.
Three miles up the road
Hackensack is the Bergen County seat and sits about three miles north-east of Lodi. We are there regularly.
Two cities in one
Hackensack is unusual in our service area for having genuinely different building types in genuinely different parts of the city, and the drain work splits along the same line.
Downtown and the Main Street corridor carry mid- and high-rise apartment buildings, commercial premises and restaurants. The work here is stacks and horizontal mains serving many units, grease lines behind kitchens, and access through basements rather than yards. Buildings on this scale need planned maintenance more than they need emergency clearing — a stack serving thirty apartments that blocks on a Friday evening is a much larger problem than one serving a family.
The residential neighbourhoods — Fairmount, the streets off Summit Avenue, the area toward Maywood — are largely single-family, much of it built between 1910 and 1950, on lots with mature trees. Standard older-Bergen main line work: clay laterals, root intrusion, and cast iron interior stacks that have scaled.
Restaurants
Hackensack has a dense restaurant trade around Main Street and the county complex. Everything true about commercial kitchen drainage applies with force here: grease coats the pipe wall, a cable bores a hole through the middle of it, and the line closes up again within weeks. Hydro jetting removes it. A kitchen that jets on a schedule is not the kitchen calling at 9 PM on a Saturday.
The Hackensack River
The river runs along the eastern edge of the city, and the low ground near it behaves like low ground everywhere — basement fixtures are the first to show a problem when the water table is up and the main line is already restricted.
What we do here
Main line clearing, camera inspection, jetting for commercial and multi-family lines, sewer line repair, and ordinary toilet and sink work in houses and apartments.
